A memorial for seven men who died during the construction of the Tamar Bridge has been unveiled.

It is a 6ft stainless steel model of one of the bridge's towers inscribed with the men's names and will stand next to the bridge office.

The victims included a steel erector and a painter .Relatives of the men were expected to attend the unveiling.

Work began on the road bridge in July 1959 and was completed in October 1961. It was officially opened by the Queen Mother the following year.
