Mitt Romney: needs result in Ohio

Voters in 10 American states are picking a Republican presidential candidate during Suoer Tuesday.

The contests are being held in Ohio, Georgia, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Oklahoma, Idaho, North Dakota and Alaska.

The most closely watched battleground will be Ohio as no Republican nominee has ever become president without winning the state.

The current front-runner, Mitt Romney said: "I hope that I get the support of people here in Ohio tomorrow, and in other states across the country. I believe if I do, I'll get the nomination."

Mr Romney is a former Massachusetts governor and private equity tycoon. His main opponent, Rick Santorum, is a devout Catholic who apposes abortion and gay marriage.

Tuesday's results will be crucial in the presidential contest as more than 400 of the 1,144 delegates needed are at stake.
