Steve Jobs : will unveil new Apple products

The Apple Tablet is being unveiled today in San Francisco amid speculation about the other new products Apple will be revealing.

The company behind the cultural phenomenon iPod and iPhone has been interested in the concept of a tablet computer since around 1983. At the time a company called “Frog Design” was said to be working on ideas for a tablet computer.

Twenty seven years later, Apple is finally ready with designs and a concept to be released to the public at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater.

Rumours have been flying since the initial publicity release about all aspects of the tablet including its size, weight, functions. But Apple has refused time and again to speculate on new products,  unless it releases information itself.

Secret

It has confirmed that the Tablet will be based on the iPhone operating system, and will be able to work with iPhone applications and functions.

Apple has kept its appearence a close secret. Internet pundits and fans of Apple have created images of what it could look like, but Apple have refused confirmed or denied these images.

Tablet computers are not an original idea, Microsoft has released their own versions over the past decade. However they have limited functions and are generally viewed as “work only” products.

Apple is a pioneer in creativity. Everything it puts its logo on is a symbol of the amount of research it puts into its products. The down side is that every new product it invents has to raise the bar.
