The Poly Arts centre in Falmouth is to hold two more screenings for the British Animation Awards (BAA). 

During the first night the audience was treated to a selection of work from British animators, including commercials, music videos and film.

Viewers were given the opportunity to vote for their favourites. Those with the most votes were put forward for the chance to win a BAA.

The acronym BAA has also been used to give the awards a sheep-related theme. This year Derek Hayes, the BAFTA award-winning animator and lecturer on the University College Falmouth's BA Digital Animation course designed one.  It is a sheep's head covered with jewels in the shape of the union jack.

Previous winners of BAAs include Nick Park of Aardman animation (Wallace and Gromit fame) and Tim Burton. Cornish hopes this year stand with Petra Freeman who has been nominated  for an award.

All proceeds for the screenings are going towards keeping the Poly in business, as it is still under threat of closure.
